Online access to medical information from the care network
Better collaboration thanks to access to patient information from other healthcare organisations’ information systems.
Securely access patient information, images, medication and lab results
As a healthcare provider, delivering good quality care requires up-to-date, complete and reliable patient information. Too often there is a lack of access to patient information and images saved in other healthcare organisations’ information systems.
As more and more people are treated by multiple healthcare providers from different healthcare organisations, it’s important that all relevant patient information is available in the care network, always and everywhere. Of course, access requires strict conditions, such as the patient’s consent and use of electronic passports (such as UZI-pass in The Netherlands).
With the Viewer, hospital specialists, care institute physicians, pharmacists, GPs and acting GPs can access the medical records of patients they are treating. Cooperating healthcare providers within the network are able to get a good impression of the examination results and the patient treatment process at the hospital or another care institute.
The Viewer is based on XDS Standards for accessing patient information, lab results, X-rays and other diagnostic imaging. Based on the FHIR Standards, information derived from the different patient records shows the healthcare information building blocks (zibs). Up-to-date medication information can also be viewed by consulting the National Exchange Point (LSP).
