How do you balance customisation and user-friendliness for practitioners while also meeting increasingly strict accountability requirements under Horizontal Monitoring? Dutch healthcare organisation GGZ Oost-Brabant found the answer through collaboration with Performation, which has been part of Enovation since February 2025.
Until recently, GGZ Oost-Brabant developed its own daily checks for care registration. This approach offered great flexibility: the checks aligned perfectly with internal processes, and a smart setup allowed practitioners to work directly with alerts within the EHR (Nexus). It involved no extra systems or unnecessary switching between platforms.
However, this in-house solution turned out to be less robust than expected. As specialised staff left, maintenance and further development became increasingly difficult. Moreover, the internal checks did not comply with ISAE standards, making the accountability process under Horizontal Monitoring time-consuming and error-prone.
In this collaboration, GGZ Oost-Brabant chose an approach that combines the best of both worlds. Nexus allows the organisation to retain ease of use and direct handling, while now using the standardised, ISAE-certified care registration checks in the digital solution Auditing.
Thanks to close cooperation with specialised consultants, the checks and alerts have been configured to mesh seamlessly with GGZ Oost-Brabant’s workflows and are fully integrated within Nexus. As a result, practitioners notice hardly any difference in their daily routine, while the organisation benefits from all the advantages of standardisation and compliance.
From 2025 onwards, GGZ Oost-Brabant will use ISAE-certified software and checks from Enovation, greatly simplifying its accountability under Horizontal Monitoring. This reduces the risk of errors, saves time and offers demonstrable quality and reliability.
Together, we are building a care registration process that keeps pace with the practice of today – and tomorrow.
