‘I’m truly in my element working in the back office.’

Ciska Meijsen (58) doesn’t like to be the centre of attention. She prefers to get on with her work quietly in the background, and she’s been doing just that for over 25 years. We think that’s more than enough reason to put her in the spotlight anyway!

What is your role at Enovation?

‘I’ve been working in the Project Office for three years now, which is part of Project Management. As PMO staff, our role involves monitoring, supporting and coordinating with project managers and other departments. Some examples of our tasks include processing incoming quotes, independently managing small projects, providing administrative support to project leads, handling monthly invoicing of PMO projects and liaising with departments such as Sales (Support), Integration Services, User Administration, Finance and Service Management.’

How did you find your way to Enovation?

Ciska is one half of a true ‘Enovation couple’, together with Ron Meijsen. But they didn’t meet at work — they were married before Ciska joined Enovation. ‘I got to know the company because Ron was already working here. We’ve known each other for ages; we met in a rather clichéd way, through dance classes. That was back in 1980, so quite a while ago now!’

‘We don’t actually talk much about Enovation at home. People often ask us that. A lot of people say they could never work with their partner, but it’s never been a problem for us. We don’t cross paths very often at work either, and I work three days a week, half of which is from home.’

‘Before I joined Enovation, I worked in the finance department at Ikazia Hospital, focusing on accounts payable and receivable. At a certain point, for a variety of reasons, I felt it was time for something new. Around the same time, a position opened at Enovation — back when it was still Lifeline Networks. I had an interview with Jean Nederlof and immediately felt a connection with the company.’

Could you talk us through your journey at Enovation?

‘I started out in the Finance department, which I really enjoyed. I stayed there for 22 years, which says it all really. I then moved to the Project Office, where I’ve been ever since and still find it just as rewarding.’

What do you like about your work?

‘For me, the most important thing is working closely with colleagues. I’ve known some of them for ages, like Marjolijn, Renate, Freek, Hans Tieman, Ramazan and also Jeroen and Marcel from the board — it’s great to see how they have helped the company grow.’

‘I also really enjoy the company outings. That was already the case when we were much smaller, and it’s still true now that we’ve grown so much. I have great memories of the company parties in Antwerp, Maastricht, Den Bosch and the trips to Center Parcs — some brilliant spots in the Netherlands and Belgium!’

What are you most proud of?

‘That’s a tough question! I really value being able to collaborate effectively with all my colleagues. You can really feel that it’s a team effort. That’s something to be proud of.’

What do you do in your spare time?

‘In my free time, I enjoy swimming and riding my kickbike — a scooter you propel by stepping on pedals. And of course, I love spending time with our daughters Wendy and Kelly.’
