A new look for the HagaZiekenhuis websites and MijnHaga app

The new websites for the HagaZiekenhuis and Juliana Kinderziekenhuis (both located in the Netherlands) were launched almost four years ago. Since then, both websites have proven to be a valuable resource as the ‘hospital handbook’. At the end of 2022, the HagaZiekenhuis launched a new corporate identity, and in spring of 2023, the HagaZiekenhuis merged with the LangeLand Ziekenhuis in Zoetermeer. The LangeLand Ziekenhuis is now known as HagaZiekenhuis Zoetermeer. That meant the websites and mobile app were long overdue for a makeover. No changes were made to the functionality, but the look and content were completely overhauled.

Access to all information on one website

The HagaZiekenhuis Strategy & Communications department compared the content of the LangeLand Hospital website with that of HagaZiekenhuis. Information about specialisms and practitioners from Zoetermeer was rewritten where needed and merged into the structure of the HagaZiekenhuis website. After three months of hard work, the final piece of the puzzle was completed and patients from The Hague and Zoetermeer can now find all the information they need on one website.

Optimal accessibility

During this period, Funatic also implemented a new corporate identity on the websites. The arches, the cross and many other elements from the old identity made way for a new, sleeker layout, with updated photography and a refreshed colour palette. This also showcased the strength of the site’s flexible structure with blocks and movable elements. We reviewed what adjustments were needed for each block to properly implement the new corporate identity. The team from Funatic and the HagaZiekenhuis also looked at optimising the website’s accessibility. The most prominent blocks underwent the first style change, quickly giving the new design visibility throughout the website. Next, we developed the ‘nice to have’s’, with the end result looking like completely new websites. Thanks to the fresh new look, the websites and the My Haga app now perfectly match the updated corporate identity. “We achieved a great result in a relatively short time. We receive many compliments at Haga about our corporate identity update,” said Richard Pflug, senior communications advisor at the HagaZiekenhuis.
