Expansion of Enovation Mitz Connector
In December, the Enovation Mitz Connector was expanded with two new features for Mitz, the consent facility. The validation tests for the ‘Open Authorisation Question’ and ‘Migration Message’ have been successfully completed and are now included in the Enovation Mitz Connector.
What does this mean?
Since March 2025, the Mitz Connector has been supporting healthcare providers in submitting closed consent requests for exchanging medical data, registering patients and receiving notifications. With this extension, the following is now also possible:
- The open authorisation request: this allows a healthcare provider to request, via Mitz, which other healthcare providers have recorded a patient’s data.
- The migration message: existing consents stored locally can be transferred to Mitz.
These two interfaces result in a significant improvement in the use of and connection to Mitz.
What is Mitz?
Mitz is the Dutch facility for recording, viewing and verifying consents for the purpose of exchanging medical data. Currently, this often still happens in healthcare organisation systems, which can lead to unclear registrations, problems with data exchange and a lack of insight for patients. Mitz ensures a uniform and transparent registration of consent.
What is the Mitz Connector used for?
The Mitz Connector is used in various projects, such as:
- Connecting healthcare organisations to Mitz for the exchange of, for example, laboratory results via the national XDS network (Enovation XDS).
- Realising the National Timeline for Image Availability (LTB) within DUO and the national XDS network.
- Collaborative projects where a complete patient picture is important and which often require explicit consent from a patient. If information systems do not have a connection to Mitz, this can be done through the Mitz Connector. In some cases, ESB Cloverleaf is also used for this purpose.
